Was That A Remote Controlled Plane I just Saw?

I was in Laguna Beach, California several years ago. At night, maybe 9 or later me and my friend went to hang out at the beach. Then up in the sky I saw a flying machine, it had light in different colors, reds, whites, blues, greens in a triangular shape? It came flying at very high speeds over our heads and went straight up and really fast speed. I and another friend of mine are the only one that saw it.

Ever since then I always wondered what it was. Do you think it was a UFO or a remote control airplane. I'm very skeptic so I choose a remote control plane but I always ask myself who would be flying this thing in a dark night, wouldn't the remote controler loose sight of it. It was a fast machine and it flew great distance and we lost sight of it as it went up into the sky.

I came across the post above in Yahoo Answers. Some of the answers put forth by responders included UFOs (They further insisted on the existence of UFOs.) Other answers suggested the military testing some of their unmanned aircraft platforms (Predator?), hang gliders and various other ideas some of them insisting that it could not be a remote controlled airplane since there was no noise. Of course, I have no idea if this was real or a hallucination. Could they have perhaps been tasting angel dust? I have never seen what I would consider to be a UFO but I think it would be arrogant of us humans to think we are the only race capable of space travel.

Do UFOs really exist? What was that object in Roswell, NM many years ago? I don't believe the swamp gas theory that is used to explain UFO sightings. Weather balloons I can buy.

What do you think? Radio controlled airplane? RC helicopter? Weather balloon or PCP?
