Flying A Remote Controlled Helicopter

Remote controlled helicopters have become extremely popular with the RC public. They are fascinating to watch in flight as they go through the various maneuvers.

Remote controlled helicopters are a real challenge to fly. One analogy I saw was that flying remote controlled helicopters could be compared to balancing a basketball on your head while riding a unicycle. As with all motor skills, the more you practice you get the easier it becomes. Still, you can't afford a lapse in concentration on both the chopper and the controls or you could fly your remote controlled helicopter into the ground.

That looked easy didn't it? Believe me it isn't. There are aids that can teach you to fly the remote controlled heliucopter as well as rc airplanes. There are flight simulator software programs that run on a PC where you can learn a;; of the operational and aerobatic maneuvers with out risking damage to your very expensive RC helicopter. Did you know the airlines are now training pilots entirely in their simulators. This gave someone the idea of using this technique for models and it has been developed and is now available.By the way, I hope I didn't scare you away with the talk about the very expensive models. The gas powered and the jet powered RC helicopters (Such as the one in the video) are the ones that are very expensive. There are models that are significantly less expensive and also easier to fly.
