RC Planes - An Answer To A Dream
Did you ever notice when a plane flies overhead and is low enough to be heard, a high percentage of the population will stop and look up to locate the plane? I know I do. Man has had a fantasy of flying like a bird, soaring over tree tops and swooping down into the valleys for ever. Even in Greek mythology, Icarus dreamed of flying and made wings and attached them to his body using wax. Alsx, he flew too close to the sun and the wax melted. that was the end of Icarus. Many enterprising people have tried to devise ways to fly from making wings of feathers and fixing them to their body and trying to take off and fly.
Even in today's high levels of technology, man still tries to fly. One only has to go to the beach or mountains and watch the daring of the young people as they fly about suspended under a hang glider. Some of these have the flier sitting in a lawn chair suspended under a colorful canopy. Others are strapped in a prone position holding on to a bar. Direction is controlled by moving the body one way or another. Distance covered is controlled by the wind.
Parachutists have developed the technique of spreading the arms and legs and controlling their direction through the air prior to the opening of their parachute. They jump in groups and form patterns in the air, all the while dreading the time when the chute pops open to complete the transition from sky to earth. Several years ago, a young man jumped from a plane and had no parachute. His buddy jumping with him had two. While they were in free fall, they maneuvered close together and the chuteless man took the spare, donned it and glided to a safe landing.
These efforts and activities are all a part of man's yearning to free himself from the bonds of gravity and go sailing through the air, Since the feat of flying is a physical impossibility, this "itch to fly" has been in some way supplemented by the hobby of remote controlled airplanes and remote controlled helicopters.
Remote controlled planes are the components of one of the most exciting hobbies one can pursue. The hobby brings out the creativity of the person building the rc plane; his mechanical ability, working with several different kinds of material. It all culminates in the thrill of seeing your creation begin to roll and lift off the ground and actually fly. You could just fly your remote controlled plane for an afternoon of fun or race them in a competition where you can get your adrenaline flowing with the speed required to fly your aircraft.
There are many types of RC airplanes available in all stages of assembly. There are ready to fly (RTF), almost ready to fly (ARTF) and then there is the rc airplane kit that you build completely. There are a lot of models from which to choose - a simple glider which can give you an afternoon of fun in the park, to a jet fighter plane with a micro turbine to power and which can reach a speed of up to 250 miles per hour. Whatever your desire, can be found in our rc airplane kits and remote controlled planes that are ready to fly. Visit our store today and scratch that itch you have been ignoring for so long.
